What's the Difference Between The Next Loop Endurance Series and The Next Loop 40M/50M Challenge?
Both events share the same welcoming atmosphere, centralized aid station, and supportive community—but they are designed for two very different endurance experiences.
The Next Loop Endurance Series
Your race. Your distance. Your decision.
The Next Loop Endurance Series is built around a simple concept: complete one 5K loop every hour, on the hour.
-
Run a loop.
-
Return to the start/finish area.
-
Rest, refuel, and recover.
-
Start the next loop when the clock reaches the top of the hour.
You decide when you're finished.
Every completed loop earns an official distance:
-
1 Loop = 5K
-
2 Loops = 10K
-
3 Loops = 15K
-
4 Loops = Half Marathon
-
5 Loops = 25K
-
6 Loops = 30K
-
7 Loops = 35K
-
8 Loops = 40K
-
9 Loops = Marathon
-
10 Loops = 50K
Whether you're a first-time trail runner looking to complete a 5K or an experienced athlete aiming for 50K, the format allows you to challenge yourself without committing to a specific distance before race day.
Perfect for:
-
New trail runners
-
Athletes testing longer distances
-
Marathon and 50K goals
-
Runners who enjoy recovery time between efforts
-
Anyone who wants flexibility on race day
The Next Loop 40M/50M Challenge
Continuous Forward Progress. No Scheduled Breaks.
The 40M/50M Challenge is a traditional ultra-distance event run on the same loop course, but with a completely different format.
Participants start at 7:00 AM and continue running loops until they complete either:
-
40 Miles
-
50 Miles
-
No DNFs. Every Mile Counts
There are no hourly starts and no mandatory recovery periods.
You manage your own pace, breaks, nutrition, and strategy throughout the day.
The event features:
-
Continuous timing
-
Fully stocked central aid station every loop
-
Personal gear access each lap
-
Pacers allowed later in the event (venue-specific rules apply)
-
12-hour cutoff
Perfect for:
-
Experienced trail runners
-
Marathon finishers looking to step up to ultra distances
-
Athletes training for longer ultras
-
Runners who prefer continuous forward movement
