Joe Johnson/Race Director. Driver

Joe Johnson is a lifelong endurance athlete with over 40 years of competition in extreme and endurance sports, including ultra-running, adventure racing, triathlons, tactical competitions, and survival-based events.

An accomplished ultra-runner, Joe has completed numerous marathon and ultra-distance trail races, continually testing the limits of physical and mental endurance. He has competed in elite, high-stress environments such as The Tactical Games and Surviving Mann Season 2 and Season 4 Allstars, where strength, resilience, adaptability, and decision-making under fatigue are paramount.

Beyond competition, Joe conquered blood cancer —an experience that reinforced his belief that limits are often far beyond what we imagine. That journey became a catalyst for founding EverFurther and The Next Loop, created to keep people competing, exploring fitness outdoors, and challenging themselves at every stage of life.

Joe’s mission is simple: to help people—young and old—realize they are capable of far more than they imagined, and more than others ever thought possible. By competing against themselves, athletes build confidence, resilience, and belief. Through EverFurther, Joe seeks to help others become stronger, more capable versions of themselves—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Terry Madl/Race Director.Visonary

A lifelong commitment to running led Terry to transition from marathons to the challenging world of ultra-running in his early fifties. His various ultra-career highlights include finishing the Marathon des Sables in the Moroccan Sahara three times, conquering the legendary Death Valley Badwater 135, and completing numerous 50 and 100-mile races.

Terry quickly moved from competing to race directing, channeling his passion into creating unique race experiences. He co-founded the Des Plaines River Trail Races (2010), co-founded and designed the course for the Grand-to-Grand Ultra (2012), and co-founded Runners 4 Wellness (2014)..

Launching EverFurther with his close running friend, Joe Johnson, is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to support and promote active lifestyles.

Their flagship Next Loop Endurance Series offers a unique feature: it provides runners the flexibility to join at any comfort level and then challenge themselves to push their personal limits.

Terry and Joe’s ultimate goal is to expand the EverFurther footprint into communities throughout the United States, offering a distinctive fitness option for runners everywhere.
