Ruthie Loffi is exactly the kind of athlete—and person—we love to highlight at EverFurther.

I met Ruthie as the Office Manager at Lake Carl Blackwell Park, where her enthusiasm, energy, and genuine love for endurance sports were immediately obvious.

She invited me out to personally tour the park as a potential venue for The Next Loop Endurance Series and The 50 Mile Challenge, and her excitement for the trails, the community, and what these events could bring to the area was contagious.

At 62, Ruthie is still out there competing, training, and proving that age doesn’t define what’s possible—mindset does.

Ruthie’s story is also one of resilience and self-belief. As featured in Ultra Running Magazine (2020), she famously stepped off the course at mile 50 of the Rocky Raccoon 100 in 2018—an experience she reframed not as “Did Not Finish,” but as “Did Not Fail.” That moment became a breakthrough in how she viewed fear, failure, and her own capabilities. From growing up in a small seaside village in England, to traveling the world and rediscovering running through adventure-filled communities like the Hash House Harriers, Ruthie has built a life around movement, challenge, and grit.

Today, she continues to inspire others through her work, her racing, and her coaching spirit—and we’re proud to bring The Next Loop and the 50 Mile Challenge to Lake Carl Blackwell Park in May and November, alongside someone who truly represents what this community is all about.
