
The Next Loop Expedition Run
Pinnacle Mountain State Park, where we’re staging The Next 50K,50M,100K,100M Challenge has numerous, interconnecting trails of various degrees of difficulty. Around the mountain, over the mountain, very rocky to smooth foot paths.
Format

2, 3 or 4 person teams (not a relay) carrying all of their required gear. Personal gear, food and water (plenty of places to refresh water). They must travel together.

100M to 125M | 40 to 48 Hour Cutoff

They receive a course map book and a park trail map.

Only one checkpoint is the centralized hub/Race Headquarters.

The course is loops of various distances

Loops can be completed in either direction. Determined by each team.

No aids station or checkpoints.

We place markers around the park. The teams must bring back a photo of each marker, with the team in the photo, timestamped as proof of completion of that loop.

There will be task between loops, physical or mental that must be completed before moving to the next loop. These will be designed that all, one or two members of the team will complete.

Required Pre-Race Briefing & Gear Check at Race Headquarters (Big Maumelle Pavilion).

Team Check-InTeams will be given Team Numbers for use Team Names for Identification.

Teams can only utilize foot travel. Run, Walk, Hike, etc.

Tow Lines, Trekking Poles or Walking Sticks are allowed as long as they are carried the entire course.

If a Team Mate drops the Team can drop to another category but will receive a 2 hour penalty.

There will be in tub available as a food drop per team. The Race Staff will supply the tub and determine size for the event. Any food not in the tub must be carried.

Teams will follow parks signs.

The Course will describe routes and approx. mileage and lengths of loops. It will be the Teams responsibility to stay on course.

Race Description
-
The race will consist of 4 or 5 loops of different distances, different degrees of difficulty.

Teams must stay together and compete all loops together.

There will be different markers distributed throughout the course. These will be described in the Course Guide with approx. location and distances.

Teams will be required to take photos of the markers with whole team in the photo, timestamped and texted to Race Headquarters.

Each Loop will come through Race Headquarters before moving on to the next loop.

There will be task between loops, physical or mental that must be completed before moving to the next loop. These will be designed that all, one or two members of the team will complete.

Teams must carry they’re food for entire event.

There is no aid station. Teams will be allowed 1 tub for a food drop between loops. All required gear must be carried the entire race.

Teams will be informed of their order in which they will start the race.

Teams will not all start in the same order. After the first loop they complete each team will decide which order in which they will tackle the remaining loops. They will need to announce which loop they are going out on to the Race Headquarters before heading out.

Team must cross timing pads together for stop and start of each loop.
